This clock had been stored in a damp basement for some years. It came to the workshop with lots of loose and missing pieces of veneer, covered in mould and dirt, and missing most of its finish. To restore the clock to it’s original splendor I reapplied all of the veneer, patched missing areas, hand cut missing mouldings and then recoloured and polished it. The ormolou mounts were cleaned and the movement taken to a specialist clock restorer to be cleaned and serviced.
